SIG onboarding

Info

Each Special Interest Group (SIG) should generally follow the guide below. However, the specific implementation is up to the SIG leadership. Read the documentation for the SIG you want to join, or ask for help.

Create an account on Rocky Account Services

  1. Navigate to accounts.rockylinux.org in your web browser.
  2. Select the "Register" button to start the account creation process.
  3. Complete the fields with your information. Include a valid email address for future communications.
  4. Read and accept the terms and conditions, and then select "Create Account."
  5. Check your email for a verification message and follow the instructions in it.

Sign the agreements

  1. Login to your [accounts.rockylinux.org] account.
  2. Select the down arrow next to your profile icon (next to "Groups") in the upper right corner and select "Settings."
  3. In the tabs across the top select "Agreements."
  4. Review and sign the "Rocky Open Source Contributor Agreement" and the "Rocky Git Contributor Agreement."

Join a SIG

  1. Introduce yourself to the SIG by way of their Mattermost channel (example: "SIG/Containers"). Provide your background and how you hope to participate in the SIG.
  2. Attend SIG meetings and participate where you have opinions or skills.

If you have any questions regarding a particular SIG, or if you want to suggest a SIG for consideration, you can post to Mattermost channel General. Or, email community@rockylinux.org.
